1 year ago, today we loss the King of Pop.
On June 25th, 2009 the world held their breath, only to let out a cry of despair and tears of lost when it was announced that Michael Jackson had died. Now one year later it is still hard to imagine that a man who pretty much changed the game in the music business is no longer here. Many superstars have taken, mimicked or paid tribute to MJ, but none of them could never match or surpass him.

Former drug dealer, Los Angeles-based Ricky “Freeway” Ross, has been threatening Miami rapper Rick Ross with a lawsuit for a while. But this past Friday his attorney, Melvin Sharpe Jr., finally filed the paperwork in the Los Angeles federal district court.
The premise of the lawsuit is that ex-drug dealer Rick Ross is being unfairly deprived of profiting off his image, thanks to the popularity of rapper Rick Ross. In compensation, dealer Ross seeks to prevent the release of rapper Ross’ upcoming new album, Teflon Don, as well as half of all of rapper Ross’ gross royalties, and further damages, totaling at least $10 million.
The complaint itself is , 60-plus pages (the average trademark infringement lawsuit is, oh, six to 10). Then there is the equally long number of defendants. The list includes not only rapper Rick Ross (under his real name, William Leonard Roberts II), but also, as entities, all the labels on which rapper Ross has released music: his own Maybach Music Group, as well as Def Jam Recordings, Universal Music Group, and Slip N Slide Records.

Also a defendant: “Shawn Carter, an individual known as Jay-Z, individually, and as the former President of Def Jam Music.” Jigga, the complaint says, should have known better than to let rapper Rick Ross infringe on dealer Ross’ trademark — which, the complaint admits, nobody tried to actually register until long after rapper Ross had gotten started in music. –Purple and gold confetti raining down upon him, Kobe Bryant hopped up on the scorer’s table, shook his fists and extended five fingers.
When he hopped down, Boston’s legendary Hall of Fame center Bill Russell was waiting to shake his hand.
A Game 7 classic — and this time, it finally went the Lakers’ way.Bryant, the Finals MVP, scored 23 points despite 6-of-24 shooting, and the Lakers won their 16th NBA championship Thursday night, dramatically rallying from a fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Celtics 83-79 in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Bryant earned his fifth title with the Lakers, who repeated as NBA champions for the first time since winning three straight from 2000-02. Coach Phil Jackson added his 11th, matching Russell’s total and possibly putting a cap on his remarkable career if he decides to leave the Lakers.

Microsoft has unveiled the next XBox at the world’s biggest gaming expo, E3.

The XBox Kinect looks like an entirely new system on the outside, sporting a new black glossy finish, a reduced size, and new angles and cuts. However, on the inside the XBox is largely the same in processing power, with the major difference being the addition of Kinect, Microsoft’s response to the Nintendo Wii’s motion controls. Additionally now the Xbox supports wifi internet.
The major difference between the old Xbox and the Kinect is that with the Kinect no controllers are necessary, just you. This works through the Kinect’s new motion capture camera that captures every move you make and translates it to your in game character.
The XBox Kinect will retail at $299.99. Video after the jump.
