Propped” by Jenny Saville sold for £9.5m ($12.5m usd) at Sotheby’s in London last night making her the number one female artist at auction. Painted in 1992 for her degree show at Glasgow School of Art, the Saville previously belonged to Charles Saatchi and was then acquired by legendary collector David Teiger.
