The highlight of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s historic performance at Coachella 2012 was the rumored and much talked about hologram performance by Tupac Shakur during their headlining set. Fans gasped and celebrated as the late legendary MC was brought to life for a medley of “Hail Mary” and “Amerikka’s Most Wanted. Michael Miller was the man at the right time when the west coast hip hop movement was exploding. Besides shooting all the major players in the game he also hung out with the artists and became a part of the culture. Shooting important figures like Cypress Hill, NWA, Tupac, Ice Cube, Snoop, House Of Pain, etc.
With a net worth of around $550 million, Diddy has been picked by Forbes as the front runner to become hip-hop’s first billionaire.
However, the Bad Boy CEO does have competition. Jay-Z ($450 million), Dr. Dre ($250 million), Birdman ($110 million) and 50 Cent ($100 million) are all in the running.
Birdman thinks he will beat Diddy to the Forbes 400 list.
“I think Young Money Cash Money would be the first billion-dollar brand in hip-hop,” said Birdman in an email message to Forbes. “We strong and growing every day as a brand and fast. Within the next few years we will be billionaires.”

The album’s timing and title couldn’t have been more appropriate—the Empire State of Mind rapper is hip-hop’s top earner with $37 million in the past 12 months, claiming his fourth Cash Kings crown in five years; his partner-in-rhyme ranked third.

To narrow down the list Forbes went through an analyzing procedure. The following factors went into the decision making, “valuing current holdings, looking at past earnings, leafing through financial documents and talking to a bevy of analysts, attorneys, managers and other industry players to find the nitty-gritty details. We considered only performers, which is why hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons isn’t on this list.”
