Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is retiring within the next 12 months. With this retirement comes a huge cash out of Microsoft stock. SPCapitalIQ says that Ballmer owns 333 million shares of Microsoft stock. If he is to exercise this options he’ll net a cool $840 million.

As of March 2013, Forbes reports his net worth as $15.2 billion.

“The future of CNN is as much about digital as about television, if not more.”

With those words, CNN President Jeff Zucker kicked off a press event in Manhattan on Wednesday, where the network unveiled its impending digital makeover. It’s a multi-platform effort CNN is planning to spend $15 million on this year.

On the consumer-facing side, CNN will get a new website — a darker, more streamlined version of its current site, which was released in 2009. Gone is the long left-hand column with dozens of linked headlines; the site gives play to a single big story above the fold, both on the homepage and on its section pages, like The Huffington Post‘s front page.

David Karp, 27-year old founder of Tumblr,  is set to earn a bonus of $81 million in addition to his salary if he stays at Yahoo! for the next four years.  Tumblr was launched in Feb. 2007 by Karp, a New York City high school drop out and acquired by YAHOO for $1.1 billion in May 2013.

A new study released Wednesday by Domo and CEO.com found that nearly 70% of Fortune 500 CEOs have no presence whatsoever on any major social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Google+. Of the 30% that choose to engage in social media, nearly all of them (28%) do so through LinkedIn. And while the number of CEOs utilizing the other three networks is small, it appears that Twitter is the only other social channel Fortune 500 CEOs are moving toward (albeit, slowly).

Facebook will sell 15 second long television-style ads, that will appear on its site, for as much as $2.5 million a day. By comparison, 30-second ads on the Super Bowl tend to go for $3.5 million.
