louis vuitton alligator wingtips

At an astonishing price of $10,000 per pair, Louis Vuitton is offering what are perhaps the world’s most expensive pair of men’s dress shoes for Spring / Summer 2010. The Manhattan Richelieu wingtips are finished in waxed genuine alligator skin. Designed to embody the famed French firm’s tradition of luxury and craftsmanship with a bit of vintage flair, the handmade footwear features intricate stitching and a subtle pattern of perforations. They are crafted using Blake construction, a shoe-making technique designed to impart immediate suppleness and comfort. The thread is embedded in the outsole, making it less vulnerable to wear and tear. The stylish shoes have a glove-soft leather lining, a Ruthenium-finish metal LV monogram cube embedded in the leather heel and a hand-painted leather sole.

Legendary rap artist, Ice Cube talks to HardknockTV about Straight Outta LA, the Raiders film he produced for ESPN’s excellent 30 for 30 documentary series. All of the docs have been great but I have a feeling this one, about the Raiders run in the early 80’s, which happened to coincide with the rise of that West Coast gangster shit and an overwhelming increase in street violence.

4 years ago today Detroit, MI and the Hip Hop community lost Deshaun Dupree Holton also known as Proof, member of D12 and multi platinum artists Eminem’s Hype Man.

On April 11, 2006, Proof was killed by a gunshot to the head at the CCC Club in Detroit, Michigan by club bouncer Mario Etheridge after Proof fatally shot U.S. Army veteran Keith Bender, Jr.

While playing a game Proof and Bender got into a heated argument. After a physical altercation, Etheridge fired his gun into the air to try and stop the situation, but Proof shot Bender in the head. Etheridge, who was Bender’s cousin, then shot Proof three times in the head and chest. Proof was killed instantly, and Bender died a week later.

Proof released a solo album featuring collaborations with Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, Nate Dogg, B-Real of Cypress Hill, T3 of Slum Village, Obie Trice, Royce Da 5’9″ and other members of D12 on his own Iron Fist Records label in conjunction with Alliance Entertainment’s IDN Distribution.

RIP Proof.  Stop the Violence

With yet another number one album under his belt and a collaboration with Dr. Dre solidified, Jay Z’s earnings from his tour with Young Jeezy and Trey Songz are being calculated.

New reports are suggesting that Hov’s Blueprint III tour was widely successful, so much so that Mr. Carter made close to $10 million in sales within two weeks.

According to Billboard Box Score, Jay raked in $9,731,218 from March 11-24 making stops in Boston, New York, New Jersey and several cities in between.

Additionally, Live Nation paid Jay $150 million for rights to ticket sales taking his earnings up to nearly $160 million.

No word on how much Jay earned for the rest of the tour dates which kicked off February 20 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and ended March 27 in Las Vegas.

With the BP3 tour finished, Jay is still finding ways to earn more millions.

The Roc Nation head will travel to Europe for several tour dates including London’s Wireless Fest, Ireland’s Oxegen fest and shows in Paris, Switzerland and Scotland.

He’ll also make several stops at festivals in the states including Coachella on April 16 and Bonnaroo on June 10.
