Over the years, mainstream media and pop culture created a stigma that looks down upon being intelligent. In today’s society “being cool” is actually the opposite of being intelligent, and essentially certain entertainers “dumb down” their intelligence for ratings and record sales. Dumb it Down exposes the entertainment industry for forcing prominent African American celebrities to tone down their intelligence in order to maintain relevant.
Arianna Alexander worked hard to graduate as a valedictorian with a 5.1 grade point average from Kenwood Academy. She additionally put a lot of effort into raking in over $3 million in scholarships. Now, she can go to college free from financial worries.

Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre may have built a $3.2 billion empire on a product that cost less than $20 bucks to create.
The New York Times reports that Dr. Dre’s Beats by Dre headphones are inexpensive to make, with headphone designers estimating “the cost of making a fancy headset is as low as $14.” A pair of Beats by Dre can cost upwards of $450.
While Beats by Dre may be made for cheap and have questionable sound quality, the brand is a marketing juggernaut. Beats by Dre owns an 27% of a headphone industry that reported $1.8 billion in sales last year.

From the creators that brought you the movie ‘2Eleven’, Mula Films presents to you another classic Detroit blockbuster.
In the soon to be released film, “Buffed Up”, the plot consist of a group of three college students on a mission to attain one thing… a pair of Cartier frames. With little knowledge on how to get their hands on the glasses, the group of college students are eventually forced to steal, hustle up the money, and even snatch the costly eyewear which leads them into a world of trouble. The directors of this “hood comedy” have collectively recruited a handful of stars and Detroit legends alike, such as IceWear Vezzo, KC Clark, DJ BJ, Kash Doll and more to headline this film.
The film is set to premiere this spring at the AMC Star Theatre in Southfield on April 18.

Leaving home in Detroit at 8 a.m., James Robertson doesn’t look like an endurance athlete.
Pudgy of form, shod in heavy work boots, Robertson trudges almost haltingly as he starts another workday.
But as he steps out into the cold, Robertson, 56, is steeled for an Olympic-sized commute. Getting to and from his factory job 23 miles away in Rochester Hills, he’ll take a bus partway there and partway home. And he’ll also walk an astounding 21 miles.
