Mayweather will receive a record $41.5 million guarantee for the Alvarez fight, according to Leonard Ellerbe.  

Mayweather’s guarantee for the Guerrero fight was $32 million, netting Mayweather $73 million for 2 fights in 2013.  According to sources, Showtime will pay Mayweather over $200 million for 6 fights total.  If Floyd wins the next 5 fights (including Alvarez), he will be 49-0 as a professional fighter.   Only fighter with a record similar in boxing history is Rocky Marciano who went 49-0 thru his career with no defeats or ties on his record.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the highest-earning athlete in American sports for the second straight year.
The boxer is projected to make $90 million in 2013 according to Sports Illustrated’s annual list released Wednesday. Miami Heat star LeBron James is a distant second at $56.5 million.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees vaults into the rankings at No. 3 at $47.8 million thanks to a new contract signed before last season. Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers is fourth at just under $47 million.
Tiger Woods is fifth with $40.8 million, his lowest spot since SI started the list in 2004. He was No. 1 through 2011.
The top 50 include 25 baseball players, 13 basketball players and eight football players, with no female athletes for the fifth consecutive year.

Last Night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, WBC welterweight champion and pound-for-pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather kept his undefeated record intact, scoring a unanimous decision 117-111 against mandatory challenger and multi-division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero.

Mayweather’s contract, filed on Friday afternoon with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, calls for him to earn a record-tying guarantee of $32 million, plus pay per view profits for his welterweight world-title fight against Robert Guerrero on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KOs) will earn a career-high $3 million, plus a share of the pay-per-view profits.

The purses for the other televised bouts are $375,000 apiece for featherweight titlist Daniel Ponce De Leon (44-4, 35 KOs) and challenger Abner Mares (25-0-1, 13 KOs); junior featherweight Leo Santa Cruz (23-0-1, 13 KOs),  will earn $165,000, while opponent Alexander Munoz (36-4, 28 KOs) will make $25,000; and middleweight J’Leon Love of Detroit, MI  (15-0, 8 KOs) will make $100,000 and his opponent, Gabriel Rosado (21-6, 13 KOs), will earn $60,000.
