Ring Video Doorbell inventor Jaime Siminoff sells idea to Amazon for $1 Billion after ‘Shark Tank’ passes on same concept in 2013
A lifelong inventor and successful entrepreneur, Jamie Siminoff created the world’s first Wi-Fi video doorbell while working in his garage in 2011. He pitched his doorbell, then called DoorBot as a Shark Tank entrepreneur in 2013
“Shark Tank’s” pass on Ring was called “probably the biggest miss” in the history of the show, where investors hear pitches and decide whether to fund entrepreneurs and small companies. Siminoff was seeking to raise $700,000 from the sharks at a $7 million valuation for the company.
In February of #2018 , @amazon bought the ‘RING’ doorbell camera idea for $1 Billion.
