How To Survive in America on Minimum Wage [infographic]
McDonald’s has partnered with Visa to make a website dedicated to showing its employees how to properly budget their peasant salaries. However, what it actually does is illustrate the fact that it is nearly impossible to get by on minimum wage in America as shown in this “example” budget chart:
McDonalds Hires 1st Black CEO
McDonald’s has marked a milestone by hiring the company’s first African American CEO, as 22-year McDonald’s veteran Don Thompson will replace current CEO Jim Skinner, who’s retiring.
Thompson currently works as the company’s global strategy and operations for the more than 33,000 McDonald’s restaurants in 119 countries.
It’s not going to be an easy start for Thompson, as economic turmoil continues to rise in Europe, McDonald’s largest market by revenue. The company has also been struggling with rising costs of labor and ingredients, something Thompson will be responsible for remedying.
