A record 46.7 million Americans — or roughly one in five adults — used food stamps in June, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Filmmaker David Victori of Spain has won the first edition of YouTube’s ‘Your Film Festival’ for his short film ‘The Guilt,’ about a man obsessed with revenge after his wife’s murder. Vitori will receive $500,000 for his next project, with Gladiator director Ridley Scott and actor Michael Fassbender acting as executive producers.

One anonymous collector recently paid $30,185 (£19,000) for a rare half-bottle of 1789 A.C. Meukow & Co Cognac.
The Drinks Business writes that the purchase was made from the Old Liquors Collection, which is owned by Dutch Cognac enthusiast Bay van der Bunt. The buyer also took home a 182-year-old bottle of Remy Martin Cognac dating back to 1830, which cost $20,494 (£12,900).
Van der Bunt owns the world’s largest collection of vintage cognacs and rare liquors, which is estimated to be worth a total and is based in Breda, Netherlands. His collection is estimated to be worth $9.5 million (£6 million).
Griselda Blanco (February 15, 1943 – September 3, 2012) was a former drug lord for the Medellín Cartel and a pioneer in the Miami-based cocaine drug trade and underworld during the 1970s and early 1980s.
Blanco was killed by two gunmen on a motorcycle as she walked out of a butcher shop in her hometown, Medellin on Sept 3, 2012.
