Shaheem Reid @ MTV News got Jeezy on the phone to speak on yesterday’s “Death Before Dishonor (B.M.F. Freestyle)”.

It’s not a diss. First of all, I’m not gonna get nothing out of dissing that guy. That’s one. What am I gonna get out of dissing him? I think sometimes people can read into things too deep. They trippin’ man. They crazy out there. Basically, if homie takes that as a diss, he’s insecure, and anybody else out there who does, they are insecure.

When it comes to that [Black Mafia Family] situation, I’m gonna talk about it a little flyer anyway. I happen to know that situation very well.

On the “you don’t know the crew” bars specifically:

That’s for real. That’s for anybody. I got niggas in prison behind that shit. I feel that if you speaking on shit, you gotta at least know who you talking about. That’s like niggas speaking on Cash Money: If he ain’t never been a part of Cash Money, [then] I’mma speak it better if I’m a part of Cash Money. To me, [BMF] was real. I know all the members. Who else would say a line like that, but me? I’m one of the few people who can say that, so I said it. That’s real life, though. You gotta know the crew, baby. I thought that was the purpose of the game: to get on records and talk your shit, right?

Subliminals, for what? What’s understood ain’t gotta be said. I didn’t think people would take the record like that. I did it like I would have any Shawty Lo record, any Rocko record, whoever. I got on [Ross’ beat] and did it like how I do it, the best way I know how. I don’t know if because the BMF situation is for real for me that everybody is like, “Ooh. Oh, shot.” Twitter is a muthafucka, by the way.

He also said “Real BMF” was recorded before Ross’ BMF was released. After Ross’ blew up, he decided not to use it for TM103, so he just put it out there.

Former drug dealer, Los Angeles-based Ricky “Freeway” Ross, has been threatening Miami rapper Rick Ross with a lawsuit for a while. But this past Friday his attorney, Melvin Sharpe Jr., finally filed the paperwork in the Los Angeles federal district court.

The premise of the lawsuit is that  ex-drug dealer Rick Ross is being unfairly deprived of profiting off his image, thanks to the popularity of rapper Rick Ross. In compensation, dealer Ross seeks to prevent the release of rapper Ross’ upcoming new album, Teflon Don, as well as half of all of rapper Ross’ gross royalties, and further damages, totaling at least $10 million.

The complaint itself is , 60-plus pages (the average trademark infringement lawsuit is, oh, six to 10). Then there is the equally long number of defendants. The list includes not only rapper Rick Ross (under his real name, William Leonard Roberts II), but also, as entities, all the labels on which rapper Ross has released music: his own Maybach Music Group, as well as Def Jam Recordings, Universal Music Group, and Slip N Slide Records.

Also a defendant: “Shawn Carter, an individual known as Jay-Z, individually, and as the former President of Def Jam Music.” Jigga, the complaint says, should have known better than to let rapper Rick Ross infringe on dealer Ross’ trademark — which, the complaint admits, nobody tried to actually register until long after rapper Ross had gotten started in music.  For more on this story log on to Thisis50.com

According to sources, drug king pin Rick Ross (the real one) is planning to file a lawsuit against Rick Ross the rapper and his label home Def Jam Records, claiming the rapper stole his identity.

The case originally started in 2006 when Ross sent a cease-and-desist letter to Def Jam regarding the issue which Ross alleges were ignored. Upon the real Rick Ross’s release from prison in 2009, he made it clear that the rapper was using not only his name, but his entire image as a drug dealer to sell records.

Ross claims that Miami rapper Rick Ross (William Leonard Roberts II) signed a multimillion dollar deal in 2006, based on his image and likeness as a drug dealer.

The real Rick Ross controlled thousands of workers at the height of his power in the mid-1980’s, who dealt millions of dollars worth of cocaine each day.

In 1996, Ross was sentenced to life in prison for attempting to purchase over 100 kilograms of cocaine, but the verdict was over turned after a series of explosive articles appeared in the San Jose Mercury News, which exposed the C.I.A.’s role in distributing cocaine to Black communities to fund Contra fighters in Nicaragua.

The real “Rick Ross” has been actively touring urban America spreading his message, and motivational speaking to at-risk youth, the hood, ex-offenders, and recovering addicts, about the powers of redemption, and he spoke at the annual Savior’s Day as a guest of Minister Louis Farrakhan.

A movie about his life, written by producer Nick Cassavettes, is slated for release next year.

The rapper Rick Ross (William Leonard Roberts II) is preparing to release his fourth album Teflon Don this summer
