Hip hop newcomer Kreayshawn is a million dollars richer  after Sony inked her to a recording contract, Miss Info reports.

The Oakland rapper/filmmaker and self proclaimed “rap beast” first gained some local attention by filming music videos for Bay Area artists, most notably Lil B. It wasn’t long before she went into the booth herself to record the mixtape ‘Kittys X Choppas‘ which spawned the local hit and video ‘Bumpin Bumpin.’ But it wasn’t until she released the video for “Gucci Gucci” did major labels start scrambling to sign her.

With a label deal now secured, Kreayshawn and her White Girl Mob crew (Kreayshawn, her sister V-Nasty and DJ Lil Debbie) are ready to take on the hip hop world.

Atlanta (CNN) – Bishop Eddie Long, the Atlanta-based megachurch leader, has reached an out-of-court settlement with four young men who accused him of sexual coercion, according to representatives for both sides.

Long is an internationally known televangelist who crusaded against gay marriage, and the lawsuits against him drew national attention.

The settlement comes eight months after Long, the senior pastor of New Birth Missionary Church in Lithonia, Georgia, said from the pulpit of his 25,000 member megachurch that he vowed to fight the accusations against him, with the congregation cheering in response.

Long entered into mediation talks in February. According to news reports, the sessions between Long and his four accusers – Anthony Flagg,  Maurice Robinson, Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande – were tense.

The suits accused Long of using his position to coerce the men into having sexual relationships with him while they were teenage members of his congregation.

The lawsuits say Long engaged in intimate sexual acts with the young men, such as massages, masturbation and oral sex.

Long took the young men on trips including to Kenya, according to the suits. He allegedly enticed the young men with gifts including cars, clothes, jewelry and electronic items.

Long’s attorneys deny those allegations and maintain that the pastor was attempting to be a father figure to the youths by providing them with financial assistance and encouragement.

Though no trial will now take place, Long may face the judgment of his congregation and fans worldwide.  According to sources Bishop Eddie Long settled for $15 million out of court, therefore each kid would receive roughly $3.6 million a piece.

Gil Scott-Heron, the poet and recording artist whose syncopated spoken style and mordant critiques of politics, racism and mass media in pieces like “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” made him a notable voice of black protest culture in the 1970s and an important early influence on hip-hop, died on Friday at St. Luke’s Hospital in Manhattan. He was 62 and had been a longtime resident of Harlem. Checkout a few Hip Hop tweets for Gil Scott-Heron below:

Harold Camping, the 89-year-old Family Radio founder, a California-based religious broadcasting network that spans more than 150 outlets in the United States, is predicting the world is going to end May 21, 2011.

Robert Fitzpatrick, a 60-year-old ex-MTA employee has dropped down $140,000, his life savings, to help spread the word that the world will end on May 21, 2011.

“I’m trying to warn people about what’s coming,” Fitzpatrick told the Daily News. “People who have an understanding [of end times] have an obligation to warn everyone.”

Fitzpatrick spent his money on 1,000 placards on subway cars and several more on bus shelters around the city. They read: “Global Earthquake! The Greatest Ever – Judgment Day: May 21.”

The retiree’s beliefs are based on the predictions made by Harold Camping, who claims the rapture will take place on May 21. Fitzpatrick said the cataclysmic event will happen just before 6 p.m. Eastern.
