Jay Z brings New Jersey Nets to Brooklyn

This afternoon, a press conference was held for the groundbreaking of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn Yards. Set to open in 2012, the 18,000 seat arena will become the new home of the New Jersey Brooklyn Nets. Many local residents oppose the move due to imminent increases in traffic and living costs. In attendance were Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Governor David Paterson. Nets co-owner Jay-Z, gave a brief speech, in which he paid homage to the memory of his nigga, Biggie. We did it Brooklyn!
