1. Rupert and Anna Murdoch
Settlement: $1.7 Billion
Anna Murdoch Mann, newspaper mogul Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife, received $1.7 billion—$110 million in cash—from the couple’s infamous 1999 split, in what is called the “most expensive” divorce settlement in history. Although at first they broke up amicably after 30 years together, Mann (who has since remarried) was determined to give Murdoch’s older children, three of whom were hers, the right to approve any change in the family trust that controls News Corp., ensuring that they could not be pushed aside for any new children. Murdoch remarried company employee Wendi Deng just 17 days after the divorce was finalized and has since had two more children.
2.Craig & Wendy McCaw
Settlement: $460 million
Wendy and cellular pioneer Craig McCaw met their sophomore year at Stanford University. Both history majors, Wendy tutored her future husband. They graduated and married in 1974. Craig went on to snatch up relatively cheap cellular phone assets, eventually selling them to AT&T for $11.5 billion in 1994. Less than a year later, the couple separated. In the end, Wendy ended up walking away with at least $460 million.

3. Robert & Sheila Johnson
settlement: $400 million
Professional differences became personal differences, and Sheila and Robert Johnson divorced in 2002, splitting after 33 years of marriage.
Two years before their divorce, in 2000, Robert Johnson sold BET to Viacom for $3 billion; both Johnsons now rank among the wealthiest African-Americans in the country.
4. Neil Diamond & Marcia Murphey
settlement $150 Million
When Diamond met Marcia Murphey, he was already married to his first wife. In 1994, they separated, she citing “irreconcilable difference”. The singer claims he willingly gave her the money.

settlement: $150 Million
Michael Jordan and his wife, Juanita, divorced after 17 years of marriage.

6. Tiger Woods & Elin Nordegren
settlement: $100 million
The Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren divorce is reportedly in its final stages, but new settlement figures are emerging. TMZ is reporting that Nordegren will receive approximately $100 million from Woods in the final settlement, citing a source with first-hand knowledge of the proceedings.
7. Steven Spielberg and Amy Irving
settlement: $100 million
Amy Irving shot to fame in 1976 when she played the lone teen survivor in Carrie. Spielberg began to make a name for himself in Hollywood, following Jaws. The pair married in 1985, but the pair broke up four years later. He gave Irving, the mother of their son Max $100 million.
