Last Friday evening a gunman opened fire a few blocks away from the White House. Yesterday, the Secret Service says a bullet hit an exterior window of the White House, but was stopped by ballistic glass.
Witnesses heard shots and saw two speeding vehicles in the area, while an AK-47 rifle was also recovered.
The Secret Service says it has not conclusively connected Friday’s incident with the bullets found on the White House grounds.
Police have identified Oscar Ramiro Ortega, 21, as the man involved in a shoot out near the White House Friday night.
Ortega is described as a white Hispanic man standing 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, with medium build, brown eyes, black hair and on the left side of his neck he has a tattoo reading “Israel.”
An arrest warrant was issued on Ortega by U.S. Park Police.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact local law enforcement or US Park Police at (202) 610-7500.

With Michael Jordan’s dominance throughout the ’90s providing a spark, the basketball culture in Chicago has recently dominated that of other sports in the city, one where the Cubs and Bears also call home. Chicago has also come to rival and in some regards, surpass, other basketball capitals such as N.Y.C. and L.A. in producing local talent the likes of Dwayne Wade and Derrick Rose, the latter of which now leads a young, resurgent Bulls squad. Here, in our first documentary, Life+Times follows a select crop of the city’s youngsters—high school sophomores Tyquone Greer, Jahlil Okafor, and Paul White—with the potential to carry on in the city’s rich legacy.
Also featuring famed NBA trainer Tim Grover, Chicago basketball scout Daniel Poneman, and Oak Park product and New York Knicks’ 2011 first-round draft pick, Iman Shumpert.
Wale drops a visual for his latest single, “Lotus Flower Bomb.” Featuring Miguel on the hook, and America’s Next Top Model winner Bre Scullark.

Undun is an existential re-telling of the short life of one Redford Stephens (1974-1999). Through the use of emotives and Redford’s internal dialogues the album seeks to illustrate the intersection of free will and prescribed destiny as it plays out ‘on the corner’. Utilizing a reverse narrative arc, the album begins as the listener finds Redford disoriented–postmortem–and attempting to make sense of his former life. As he moves through its pivotal moments he begins to deconstruct all that has led to his (and our own) coming undun.
Brooklyn, New York rapper Lil’ Kim has announced that she is working on a brand-new book and a documentary.
According to Lil Kim, the untitled release may come as a package, which will focus on her life, as well as her “comeback,” after serving a year in federal prison.
During an interview with Kay Slay’s Street Sweeper Radio on Shade 45, Lil Kim revealed details about the book/documentary.
“It’s going to be released with my book ‘The Price of Loyalty’,” Lil Kim revealed. “I am not sure if I’m going to separate that documentary from that book. That’s what we’re trying to figure out right now.”
Lil Kim served a year in a Philadelphia federal prison, for lying to a grand jury about her knowledge of a broad daylight shootout.
The violent incident took place in front of Hot 97, during an altercation with Foxy Brown’s crew and members of Capone and Noreaga’s entourage.
The release will detail the rapper’s life after the incident and the trials and tribulations she faced while going through her various legal issues.
“I’ve been independent, you know I left my record company two years ago. I was in another situation and that’s going to be in the documentary as well and why it took so long,” Lil Kim said. “I’ve been doing everything myself and quite frankly, for me to not have the backing, or the budget that I used to have, for me to be able to still move the way I move and be relevant the way I am, I feel blessed.”
This is not Lil Kim’s first attempt at writing a book.
In 2008, Lil Kim was sued by Simon & Schuster for failing to deliver her memoirs to the book publisher.
